Rat für Formgebung (German Design Council)
The German Design Award is bestowed by the Rat für Formgebung, the German brand and design authority. Its most important function: representing the German design developments. Founded in 1953 at the initiative of the German Bundestag as a foundation, it supports the economy in the consistent creation of brand value by design. This makes the Rat für Formgebung one of the world’s leading competence centres for communication and brand leadership in the area of design.
